Making shots black and white on photoshop

After deciding to make our music video black and white i then decided to make my digipack and poster also back and white this meant that my media products were all linked and therefore were recognisable to my audience. To make my poster black and white was a simple task. 

I first of all opened my chosen image into photoshop i then chose the option black and white from the drop down bar selecting Image then Adjustments and the selecting black and white. 

After doing this my image became black and this an a pop up box appears offering me the chance to change the tones of each colour in the original image but in terms of black and white, upon pressing OK my image is now black and white therefore allowing my to beginning to add text to my poster leading to my finished product.

This is the outcome before adding text to the image.
